About HomeFirst^TM Certified Communities

Created by an alliance of community and neighborhood developers in early 2003, HomeFirst^TM Certified Communities promotes prefab homes as a lifestyle choice. Thus far, only 12 Michigan prefab homes communities have received the HomeFirst^TM certification. These are land-lease communities where you own your home, but the high cost of the land and all of the improvements (streets, utilities, etc.) are already paid for by the landlord. This results in greater affordability so you can get more home for your money!
